It's the first day of NaPoWriMo! (It's also the first day of Camp NaNoWriMo's April session, which I am also doing.)
For my first poem, I will be writing a series of haiku.
---
Sun, clouds; warmth, then snow.
Spring weather is confusing.
Is it summer yet?
Wearing a sweater:
Not necessary today.
It's finally warm.
But today it's cold.
Bundle up; hot chocolate.
Tomorrow: warmer.
Icicles still there,
People walk past in flip-flops.
Spring in Virginia.
In late summer, we
will complain about the heat
and wish for the cold.
---
I know these make it sound like it's freezing outside, but it's actually supposed to hit 70 today. It's just been a back-and-forth couple of weeks, weather-wise. And since haiku are supposed to be about nature, it was an easy target.
